Publications 15 Years of Environmental Research at the HCE: New Anthology Published
Interdisciplinary, well-founded, forward-oriented
On July 2, 2026, an anthology titled “Umwelt interdisziplinär - Grundlagen, Konzepte, Handlungsfelder" was published, showcasing the full diversity of environmental research at Heidelberg University. Building on more than a decade of interdisciplinary collaboration at the Heidelberg Center for the Environment (HCE), the book brings together insights from the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities.
It offers in-depth insights into disciplinary foundations, key concepts, and current areas of focus in environmental research—and demonstrates how different scientific perspectives collectively contribute to a better understanding of the pressing environmental issues of our time. At the same time, the book provides a comprehensive overview of Heidelberg’s expertise, methodological approaches, and thematic priorities.
