Future Lab - World of the Future Less Doom, More Doing
The Future Lab Enters Its Second Round
Together with the Heidelberg Energy Cooperative (HEG) and Prio1—the Climate Network—the HCE is once again organizing the “World of the Future” Future Lab. This year’s event is titled “Less Doom, More Doing.” Through this event, we hope to address the question of how we can remain optimistic—and, above all, capable of taking action—in the face of the climate crisis!
We’ll hear an exciting keynote address by Dr. Helen Fischer (Heidelberg Center of Global Health). Afterward, there will be an opportunity to listen to a panel discussion on climate communication. We’ve invited the following inspiring speakers: climate journalist Janina Schreiber, Frieda Fiedler from the Heidelberg Green Youth, and Dr. Christoph Gran, a moderator for cultural and democratic events and creator of community spaces at Groove Network. During the group speed-dating session, all participants will have the chance to talk with the guests, discover new perspectives, and network.

Date: Tuesday, 20.10.2026 at 5 p.m.
Place: e+KUBATOR, Palo-Alto-Platz 11, Heidelberg
Free admission!
From 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., the band Hot Boiled Funk Crew will round out the evening with music, and snacks will be served.
The Future Lab is aimed primarily at students and young people—but anyone interested in the climate, the future, and social action is welcome.
