The potential of renewable energies in times of global crises  Resilient through wind and sun?

The City of Heidelberg organized together with the Heidelberg Center for the Environment of the Heidelberg University a lecture featuring Volker Quaschning!

The lecture will focus on the topic “Resilient Through Wind and Sun?” and explore the potential of renewable energy in times of global crisis. Volker Quaschning is a professor of Renewable Energy Systems at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences (HTW Berlin).

Prof. Quaschning explains in layman’s terms the role that renewable energy can play in ensuring a secure, sustainable, and crisis-resilient energy supply. Among other things, he addresses the question of what an energy supply based on renewable energy might look like, the roles played by heat pumps, green hydrogen, storage systems, e-fuels, and gas-fired power plants, and the changes needed in the areas of electricity, heating, and transportation.

So come to the lecture to get an idea of renewable energy!
