Overall objective, Sub-goal & Indicators
Overall objective: An overall objective is an overarching, long-term and generally formulated goal. E.G.: Heidelberg University strives for the holistic integration of sustainable energy management into its operational practices.
Sub-goal: Specific sub-goals are formulated to achieve the overall goal. These sub-goals contain the name of the measure and define the specific actions or results that must be achieved in order to reach the overarching goal.
E.G.: From 2026, Heidelberg University plans to convert its energy consumption to 100% renewable energy with a recognized green electricity label.
Indicators: The indicators are used to measure the achievement of the sub-goals. This enables an evaluation of implementation by transparently and comprehensibly demonstrating what progress has been made towards achieving the goals.
E.G: The proportion of green electricity in the university's total electricity consumption, aiming for 100%.
